This nine-day tour has the best combination of exploration, adventure and relaxation.

Relax on your first day in Negombo to overcome the jetlag and then prepare to start your amazing Sri Lanka tour by travelling to the historical and culturally rich city of Sigiriya. Here, you can experience the typical Sri Lankan village lifestyle by experiencing a bullock cart ride and walking through paddy fields.

Climb the Sigiriya Lion Rock, which is an archaeological miracle, and be mesmerised by the panoramic views at the summit before travelling to the enigmatic city of Kandy.

On your way, drop by a Spice Garden to learn about traditional Ayurveda practices and indigenous herbs and plants of Sri Lanka. Experience the typical Kandyan culture by visiting local industries including gems, batik and wood carving. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, take part in the morning ceremony and witness local devotees pay their respects in veneration.

Travel to Nuwara Eliya, stop and admire the beauty of gushing waterfalls and tea plantations on your way. Visit a tea factory and learn the process that makes Ceylon Tea one of the best in the world.

Visit Nuwara Eliya and enjoy the view of colonial English cottages and buildings. Visit a Strawberry farm and have the option of visiting the Horton Plains at sunrise to watch the sun rays touch the sleepy mountains while enjoying the beauty across the vast plains in serenity.

Take one of the world's best scenic train trips to Ella that will take you through many tea plantations, waterfalls that make this train journey a memorable one. Leave the hill country to go to the sun-kissed coast in the south of Sri Lanka where you will go on a wild jeep safari in the Yala National Park, home to the largest density of leopards in the world.

Travel to Galle, relax and spend time by the beach, and explore Galle Fort which is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk on cobblestone footpaths with buildings sprawling in Dutch architecture. Enjoy the small coffee shops, restaurants and gelato stands within the rampart walls of the fort.

As all good things come to an end, You'll be taken to the airport to leave after spending a wonderful nine days in this paradise island collecting many memories and enjoying unique experiences that will enrich you for a lifetime.

After breakfast, proceed on the journey to the majestic city of Sigiriya. After check-in at the hotel drive to the rural Hiriwaduna village. The trek begins with a beautiful walk along to a man-made reservoir. You will also experience a boat ride, bullock cart ride and a walk through lush green paddy fields.

Day 3

Sigriya Lions Rock and Kandy

After an early breakfast, climb to Sigiriya Lion's Rock fortress, a palace built in the 5th century. Later proceed to Kandy which was the last kingdom. En-route, visit the Spice Garden for an introduction to Sri Lankan indigenous Ayurveda plants, spices and enjoy a free 15-minute Ayurveda massage. After lunch, visit the gem museum, batik factory and the wood carving factory followed by an entertaining Kandyan Cultural Dance Show performance.

Day 4

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy and take part in the daily morning veneration ceremony. Then make your way to Nuwara Eliya. En-route stop to see the breathtaking waterfalls such as Ramboda Falls and Lover's Leap Falls before hotel check-in. Later in the afternoon learn the full process of tea production at a Tea Factory, walk through a lush strawberry farm and take a scenic afternoon walk at the famous Gregory Lake.

Horton Plains National Park

The Horton Plains National Park offers some great hiking opportunities over plateaus covered with grass, areas of thick forest, rocky landscape, waterfalls, and lakes. At Horton Plains you can visit Baker's falls, Chimney falls, the Mini World's End and World's End. The hike is about 9-10 km and takes approximately three hours to complete. The Horton Plains National Park is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region.

Day 6

Nuwara Eliya to Yala

After an early breakfast, proceed to Nanu Oya train station to embark the train to Ella. This train journey is known as one of the most scenic train rides in the world. The train to Ella will be sweeping through lush green meadows, beautiful tea plantations and picturesque misty mountains. Proceed to Yala after hailing at the Ella Railway station. Spend the rest of the afternoon at the tented safari camping site and enjoy the lush tropical greenery.

It's an early start but well worth it. The early morning safari will start at 5.30 am. You'll witness the animal kingdom come to life as the golden rays of the sun light up the park. During the early morning safaris, you're more likely to spot the elusive leopard so cross your fingers and keep your eyes peeled! You will get close to exotic birds and different species of beasts including wild elephants, deer, wild boars, sambars, snakes and crocodiles. Proceed to Galle later in the day.

Explore the Galle fort after breakfast. Built by the Dutch, beginning in 1663, Galle's core is the Fort, a walled enclave surrounded on three sides by the ocean. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic city is a delight to explore on foot, an endlessly exotic old trading port blessed with imposing Dutch-colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions and museums. Wandering its rambling lanes you'll pass stylish cafes, quirky boutiques and impeccably restored hotels.
