Overview

You will end the trip travelling from Munich to Berlin. From humble village beginnings to the capital of the mighty kingdom, then empire, through darkness and division of the Nazi and Communist eras and back to its glory as of the defining capital of European culture, trends and fanciness - what a place to tell stories about!

Arrival in Munich

Upon arrival in Munich, you will pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to your centrally located hotel. In the afternoon, you can visit the city at your leisure. Munich is one of the top European travel and business destinations. You can go on a hop on-hop off city tour of Munich. Major sights include the theKönigsplatzwith its Greek and Roman-inspired architectural setting, Ludwigstrasseand the university quarter of Schwabing.

Day 2
Visit Neuschwanstein Castle

You will drive through the beautiful Upper Bavarian landscapes offering you great impressions of the marvellous Alpine scenery on your way to the "Royal countryside". You will visit Linderhof Castle, the most intimate of Ludwig's castles. Next, you will drive to Neuschwanstein with a short stop at Oberammergau, the village famous for its Passion Play. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Munich.

Travel to Baden-Baden by Train

This morning you will leave Munich by train (1st day of using the German Rail pass!) and travel to Baden-Baden, along with Wiesbaden the most famous and oldest spa in Germany, originating from the time of the Roman Emperor Caracalla. In the afternoon, you will have a guided walking tour.

Day 4
Explore Black Forest Region

In the morning, you will explore the beauty of the Black Forest landscapes by venturing out on a private tour of the scenic Black Forest Highway to Mummelsee (Lake Mummel) and Sasbachwalden, a picturesque village located in a beautiful valley. In case of interest, we can arrange for a wine sampling experience in the wine-growing town Kappelrodeck. Optionally you can make a half-day trip to Strasbourg on the French side across the River Rhine to taste the cuisine in Alsace that is famous all over France?

Visit Heidelberg

Today, you will give yourselves an early start to depart by train to Dresden via Heidelberg where you will enjoy a stop-over including a sightseeing tour with a local guide in Heidelberg with its impressive castle. Onward journey to Dresden in the early afternoon to arrive there in the evening.
