Overview
This special tailor-made week-long tour is for those who would like a bit of adventure in Sri Lanka through trekking, hiking, camping, water rafting and cave exploration.
Travelling from Colombo to Kitulgala, Kandy, Gal Oya National Park, Polonnaruwa and Minneriya National Park, you'll visit remote villages, the Hill Country, tea plantations, pristine forests, ancient cities and sacred temples. Day 1
Arrival & Transfer to Colombo

Upon your arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be welcomed by your representative or chauffeur-guide. Next, you will be transferred to your hotel in Colombo. Colombo is a busy metropolitan city surrounded by high-rise buildings, grand hotels, shopping arcades cafes, a variety of restaurants serving international cuisine and busy nightlife for those seeking fun. You will feel most welcome by the great smiles and greetings you will receive by the friendly locals. You'll check into your hotel and relax.

Day 2
Kithulgala White Water Rafting, Explore a Pre-Historic Cave & Waterfall Trek

Today you will rise early and proceed to Kithulgala to enjoy the thrills of white water rafting. Afterwards, you will explore the pre-historic cave at Belihena and finish this day of trekking in Sri Lanka with a dip in a waterfall to feel refreshed for the rest of the journey. You will check into your hotel at Nallatheniya and relax as you will rise very early to climb 5500 steps to reach the summit of Adams Peak and watch the spectacular sunrise at dawn.

Day 3
Climb Adams Peak, Watch the Spectacular Sunrise & Travel to Kandy

This morning, you'll wake up around 1:30 am. A packed breakfast will be provided and you'll begin the climb alongside many others to reach the summit. In total, you will navigate 5500 steps to reach the summit in time to get a glimpse of the spectacular sunrise. Make sure to take warm clothing just in case. You'll then return to your hotel, refresh and check out ahead of your travel to Kandy. You will visit the sacred temple in Kandy and attend a cultural dance performance in the evening.

Trek in the Pristine Rainforest of the Knuckles Mountain Range

You'll rise early today for a guided hike to the pristine forests of the Knuckles mountain range, named due to its likeness to human knuckles. This is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed rainforest popular among hikers. The dense forest ranges from 900 to 2,000 metres and you will love the stunning hiking trail, cascading waterfalls, quaint villages in the mountains, terraced rice fields as well as endemic flora and fauna. A popular trek is the Dothalugala nature trail which offers panoramic views.

Another Interesting Day at Gal Oya National Park & Travel to Polonnaruwa

After an early breakfast, you will head to the Gal Oya National Park for a boat ride. You will come across elephants crossing the lake. There is an indigenous settlement of a tribal clan in the area and a 4th-century BC Buddhangala monastery which remains an optional visit. You may try and climb to the summit of Monkey mountain and enjoy the views from the top of the mountain. Later on, you'll continue to Polonnaruwa, check into your hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

Visit Polonnaruwa Ruins & Wildlife Safari at Minneriya

Today, you'll enjoy lots of amazing activities scheduled for you. First, you will explore the ruins of Polonnaruwa - an ancient thriving kingdom once ruled by a succession of monarchs. Then, you will go on a wildlife safari at the Minneriya National Park. Next, you will venture on a village trek, enjoy a canoe ride, taste authentic village cuisine prepared for you at a farmers mud hut before returning to your hotel for the rest of the day.

Today you will spend your last day in Sri Lanka. On your way to the airport (time permitting), you will have the option of visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple or a spice garden. Your driver-guide will drop you at the airport and wish you a pleasant flight back home.
