Overview
This five-night trip will take you along the best part of the train line from El Fuerte to Divisadero on El Chepe Express!
You'll enjoy a day at the Divisadero Adventure Park where you can try out the ziplines, the ZipRider, cable car or Via Ferrata. You'll get to visit three Magic Towns and descend into Batopilas Canyon to an old silver mining village. You'll learn about the history of the northern part of Mexico on a city tour in Chihuahua City and enjoy a night out at a now beautiful and famous restaurant, which was once the city home of a prominent Mexican politician.
You'll enjoy a ride on the Chepe Express train from El Fuerte to Divisadero and lunch in its famous domed dining car. You'll try out the optional soft adventure activities in the Adventure Park where you can ride the ZipRider, the seven traditional ziplines and the cable car to the middle of Urique Canyon. You'll hike in Candamena Canyon where Basaseachi Falls, the highest waterfall in Mexico is located, and enjoy a city tour around Chihuahua's capital city to learn about Pancho Villa and the Revolution.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in the Magic Town of El Fuerte

Today, you'll arrive at the Los Mochis, Sinaloa airport on your own as early as possible so you can enjoy the day. Take a taxi or book the hotel transfer with the hotel we recommended for you to the Magic Town of El Fuerte, 1.5 hours away. Upon arrival at your hotel, you'll check-in, then you'll have the rest of the day free to enjoy one of the optional activities available at the hotel, or perhaps some downtime at the hotel's rooftop pool.

Day 2
El Chepe Express Train & Divisadero

Today, you'll enjoy a ride on the famous El Chepe Express Train through Septentrion Canyon, the best part of the train line. Once in Divisadero, you'll be driven by a hotel vehicle to your hotel on the rim of the canyon, where you can relax and enjoy the views of the confluence of Copper, Urique, and Tararecua Canyons from your rim-view hotel. Later on, you can enjoy a self-guided walk along the rim of the canyon.

Day 3
Divisadero Adventure Park & Magic Town of Creel

Today includes a full-day tour of the Divisadero area with a historian guide, including the Divisadero Adventure Park, where you'll see amazing canyon views of Tararecua, Copper and Urique Canyons. You will have an opportunity to do many optional activities within the park, such as riding the traditional seven zip lines, ZipRider, Via Ferrata, or cable car. You'll also enjoy a leisurely three-kilometre walk along the canyon rim or some light hiking. You'll be transferred to the Magic Town of Creel at the end of the day, where you'll spend the night.

Basaseachi Falls Tour & Hiking

You'll be picked up at your hotel in Creel and driven by your guide to Candameña Canyon where you'll find the second highest waterfall in Mexico. There are many trails to choose from around Basaseachi Falls if you are a hiker or walker, with varying levels of difficulty. If you are not a hiker, then you can enjoy the two separate viewpoints that you'll be driven to where you can soak up the scenery. Whichever you decide to do, your day will be filled with stunning scenery.

Day 5
Creel to Historic Chihuahua City & Self Guided Walking Tour
Hide details
You'll depart the Copper Canyon today by private vehicle and drive through the countryside to reach Chihuahua City. You'll be dropped off at your hotel for check-in, then you'll have some free time to yourself to wander around the downtown, pedestrian-only section of the city. It is recommended that you have dinner at the La Casona Restaurant in the old Terrazas Estate just one block from your hotel.
