Overview
Experience the natural beauty, fascinating history and rare wildlife of two of Tasmania's iconic destinations on this six-day tour!
Beginning in Hobart, you'll visit the world-class museum, MONA, where you'll enjoy an interactive art tour followed by a gourmet lunch at a local winery.
The next day, you'll be collected by your guides to begin your Maria Island walking tour. This spectacular island national park is situated just off the east coast of Tasmania and its natural beauty, rare wildlife and fascinating history make it a unique and special place.
You’ll wander through forests of magnificent blue and white gums, some of them over 400 years old and unique to Maria Island. You’ll step back in time and walk where convicts and explorers have walked before you.
For the duration of your time on Maria Island, you'll be staying in the heritage-listed settlement of Darlington in Bernacchi House which dates back to the 1800s.

Welcome to Hobart!

Upon arrival, you'll be met by your driver and transferred from HBA Airport to the hotel in a private Sedan. After checking into your hotel, you'll have the rest of the afternoon free to spend as you wish. A town set to rise on the Austalia's must-see and do list, Hobart offers a beautiful blend of culture, stunning scenery and heritage, sprinkled with a number of unmissable, world-class attractions nearby.

Day 2
Moorilla's Wine Meets Art Day Tour

Wine and art; a match made in the proverbial. Today, you'll head to Mona, Australia’s largest privately-owned gallery, on the super-flash ferry, complete with onboard bars. At Mona, you'll start your self-guided exploration of the subterranean galleries. After your art binge, you'll head to your lunch destination for a one-course lunch of seasonal local produce matched with a glass of wine from Moorilla’s Muse or Praxis Series. Fed and watered, you’ll then begin your tour of the vineyard.

Day 3
Day One of Maria Island Walking Tour to Bernacchi House

Your driver will collect you and take you to Triabunna where you’ll meet your guides and be given a briefing. After a short bus ride and ferry to Darlington on the island, the adventure begins exploring the magnificence of the Maria Island walking tour, staying in the exclusive Bernacchi House and enjoying gourmet dinners at night. In the afternoon, relax around the house in front of a wood fire or take a walk to the stunning Painted Cliffs or Fossil Cliffs to watch the sunset over the water.

Day 4
Walks & Relaxing on Maria Island

After a leisurely and relaxed breakfast, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings before you choose your days walking. For the adventurous, there is the choice of the islands two towering mountains or for a more relaxed stroll, you can enjoy the reservoir circuit or oast house circuit. Arriving back at Bernacchi House in the afternoon, you will be entertained by native birds and mammals while enjoying delicious wines on the deck before a delicious dinner.

Day 5
Explore Darlington, Gourmet Lunch & Return to Hobart

After breakfast, you can explore Darlington and Darlington Probation Station which is located on Maria Island. From 1825 to 1832, it functioned as a convict penal settlement, and up to 1850 as a convict probation station. The station is of great cultural significance and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A farewell lunch will be served overlooking Darlington before you board the boat and transfer back to Hobart.
