Overview
Uganda is the only country in the world that can brag to have it all; mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, tree-climbing lions; boat safaris that get up close to hippos, major game driving parks and interesting cultural experiences.
In this 5-day Uganda vacation, you will have to have a tremendously long checklist to tick off all the wildlife and game. You will do a primate trek with chimpanzees and mountain gorillas, do a fantastic boat safari spotting hundreds of hippos, and elephants. You'll finish your tour by going on a very interesting cultural excursion to meet the amazing Batwa Pygmies of Bwindi, the original inhabitants, a memorable meeting before heading to the airport.
All in all this is a great value, express wildlife adventure that could only be done in The Pearl of Africa.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Uganda

On arrival in Entebbe, you'll be transferred for your flight to Mweya airstrip to begin your trip. Hop on your 4x4 WD to go to the lodge. Later, you will drive to catch up with a 4.30 pm Kazinga Channel sundowner boat safari. The channel connects the two Lakes; Lake Gorge which is to the east and Lake Edward which is to the west. The shores of the channel draw large numbers of wild animals, with one of the largest population school of hippos in the world as well as plentiful Nile crocodiles.

Day 2
Kyambura Gorge and Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, head off to Kyambura Gorge for the Chimpanzee trek. Kyambura Gorge is on the eastern side of the park. Later you will proceed for a game drive in Kasenyi plains home to a variety of wildlife and many animals and is surrounded by savanna. Its noted for its high concentration of primate life. Your driver will take you to Kasenyi plains, an open savannah with various wild animals including, elephants, buffalos, and the Uganda safari Kob, the dominant animals.

Day 3
Tree-Climbing Lions and Bwindi
Hide details
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the Ishasha Sector, one of two places in the world where tree-climbing lions are found. Whilst all lions can climb trees, these two prides are the only ones that spend the majority of their time there. Ishasha is also home to a population of Topi and on the river, you may spot hippos and the Ugandan national bird, the crested crane. Have lunch at Enjojo Lodge before you go to a new ecosystem in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, only 90 minutes drive away.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Early morning depart from the lodge to the trailhead at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your mountain gorilla tracking experience. After the briefing which touches on aspects of gorilla behaviour, details on the gorilla family you’ll track and safety precautions, your adventure will start! Gorilla tracking can be strenuous, and a certain level of fitness is required as the trail ascends and descends and can last up to six hours.

Day 5
Batwa Experience and Flight to Entebbe
Hide details
At breakfast, regale your stories of the mountain gorillas before we meet the Batwa. The Batwa are the original inhabitants of the forest; they have been a displaced minority since the early 1990s. This cultural tour is a re-enactment but a very real one as members still recall living in the forest. These tours ensure their traditions and skills are practised to pass on to the next generation. After meeting the Batwa, you'll be taken to Kihihi airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe.
