Set out on a journey from Santiago to the city of Leon, stopping off at the incredible towns of Las Medulas and Astorga along the way. Astorga offers a rich medieval legacy due to its location at the crossroads of the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela and the Ruta de la Plata (Silver Road). Its walled town preserves churches, convents and hospitals, which take travellers back to the purest tradition of the Pilgrim's Road. Las Medulas is a small mountain town that marks the natural beginning of the ascent towards Las Médulas, a unique cultural landscape that was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO.

Today, you will travel from Leon to Llanes, the iconic fishing town on the north coast of Spain. The town of Llanes has the appearance of a historic town. Not for nothing has its historic quarter been declared a Historic-Artistic Site, and it preserves major examples of civil, religious and military architecture. The San Pedro walk, San Antón, the river Carrocedo and the port are the focal points of town life in Llanes, in former times, a major fishing and whaling port.

Covadonga is the most visited place in Asturias by Asturias every year. The sanctuary and the little chapel inside the cave hosting the Virgin of Covadonga are highly recommended. Besides, before getting to the sanctuary you can deviate to the Covadonga Lakes in the middle of the Picos de Europa mountains.

This small and charming village (I mean small and charming) is located in the heart of Picos de Europa in Cantabria. Here it is time to relax, hike, eat, enjoy and relax. You will overnight in a boutique and family-run hotel made of wood and stone.

The old fishermen's refuge, San Vicente de la Barquera offers one of the most picturesque sights on the Cantabrian coast, with its beaches, the old village and the exceptional backdrop of the snow-capped mountains of the Picos de Europa. San Vicente's old town was declared to be of Cultural Interest in 1987 because of its interesting collection of monuments, forming part of which is the church of Santa María de Los Ángeles, built between the 13th and 16th centuries, the castle and the remains of a wall.

This industrial town was ugly and dirty years ago, but in the last few years, it has ultimately been renewed and now it is an example of modernity and dynamism. Bilbao is the heart of a metropolis where more than a million people live. It is the centre of economic-social development and the main factor in the modernisation of the Bay of Biscay. The great architectural and infrastructure projects have been the driving force of the urban and economic regeneration of the city.

Today, you will travel further along the coast to the city of San Sebastian. Here you can settle in the city with some free time, before your city tour the following day.

San Sebastian, also known as Donostia, lies along a white sandy bay between the Urgull and Igeldo hills. Fishermen's houses, a smart suburb and modern districts make it one of the most attractive cities on the Cantabrian coast. The Museum of San Telmo, the Peine del Viento (the Wind Comb) and the Kursaal are examples of how the city brings together modern and traditional features. Meanwhile, the province of Guipuzcoa, of which San Sebastián is the capital, blends the sea and mountains, offering the traveller landscape, sports and cuisine, as well as interesting monuments.
