See the world heritage of South America as you travel from Lima, Peru's capital, to Quito, Ecuador's capital. In Lima, you'll learn why it is known as the gastronomic capital of South America! Moving on, you'll be besotted by the wonderful culture and landscape of the Sacred Valley and Cusco's brilliant architecture. Of course, not before you step into the ancient Inca city, Machu Picchu!

You'll then hop over the border to Quito, the charming Ecuadorian capital and oldest capital city in South America! You'll have the chance to stand with a foot in both the southern and northern hemispheres, visit the famous Otavalo market, or explore the extraordinary richness of the Mindo cloud forest!

You will be welcomed at the airport, driven to your hotel in Lima and you will then have the rest of your day free to spend as you wish. Lima, also known as the 'City of Kings', was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Located directly on the Pacific coast, Peru’s capital city is a melting pot of cultures where you will encounter people, flavours and history from different regions. The bustling metropolis has something for all tastes and ages.

Today, you'll embark on a colonial and contemporary city tour of Lima. You'll visit numerous must-see sights including the San Francisco Monastery. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a guided visit to one of Lima’s most noted museums, the Larco Museum, which houses the world’s largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Columbian Art, focussing on women's roles in ancient Peru. After the tour, you'll have the option to enjoy a visit to Parque de la Exposición with dinner in a local restaurant afterwards.

You will be picked up at a given time at the hotel and brought to the airport in order to take your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you'll be welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel. On your way to the Urubamba Valley, you will undertake a short visit to the sanctuary Cochahuasi. You will have the opportunity to see Pumas, Condors and Aras. The small conservation project is not comparable to a zoo. It’s also possible to get an insight into the Andean web techniques.

In the morning, you will visit the Mercado de Urubamba, an authentic market where real bartering takes place. The rural people of the surroundings sell and barter agricultural products as well as animals. You'll then continue to Ollantaytambo, a typical Inca community, towering above the town of the same name. Steep stone terraces rising from the edge of town lead up to the fortress ruins at the top of the hill. You'll also have the option to trek to the terraces of Yucay.

This morning, you'll transfer by bus to Ollantaytambo train station where the tour starts by train through the fertile plain of the Urubamba valley and on to Aguas Calientes. From there, a bus will take you to Machu Picchu. Known as the Lost City of the Incas, this cultural heritage of mankind is a beautifully located impressive stone city constructed with a technique incredible for its era and even for present times. After a two-hour guided tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel.

One option is a culinary tour through Lima visiting a local market and sampling classic Peruvian dishes. Alternatively, you can visit the Barranco district, the bohemian heart of Lima for an interesting tour.

On this tour, you'll also visit Cotacachi and Laguna Cuicocha. Alternatively, you can embark on a tour of the Mindo cloud forest, an extraordinary richness of 500 various types of birds and natural swimming places in its rivers.
