Overview

Creating your base in Bangkok, this Thailand itinerary will introduce you to the most regal areas of the country, where you'll have a unique opportunity to learn about the monarchy and the importance of the royal family in Thailand.

From Bangkok, you'll explore the former capital, Ayutthaya, and the remarkable remains of the kingdom as you go from temple to royal palace, visiting former residences in Lopburi and Bang Pa-In. You'll also journey down to Kanchanaburi where you'll dip into a little-known part of Thai history during the Second World War before returning to Bangkok for the remainder of your trip.

While most only spend enough time in Bangkok to see the Grand Palace, you'll have time to really get to the heart of this eclectic city. From amazing shopping opportunities to foodie haven's such as Chinatown, you'll spend your days hopping between markets, shopping malls and navigating the city by boat to truly get to the heart of Bangkok life!
