Today, you'll catch a flight from Adelaide to Alice Springs and have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore. Known to locals simply as "Alice", it's the beating heart of Australia's Red Centre and one of the largest towns in the Northern Territory.

The ultimate Central Australian adventure and the capital of the Outback, Alice Springs creates an arid adventure. Whether you are looking to see the Outback from afar on a hot air balloon, visit the Royal Flying Doctor service that supports 7,000 kilometres of land, go on a camel ride and meet the only wild herd of one-humped camels in the world; you'll find it in Alice Springs. There are also many art exhibitions featuring a great variety of Aboriginal art and a fascinating reptile centre.

Today, you'll travel to Uluru from Alice Springs and take in the rugged desert landscapes of the region, passing through the beautiful MacDonnell Ranges. You'll learn the natural and geological history of the region, as well as the unique Australian desert flora and fauna, and hear about the traditional customs and beliefs of the local Aboriginals. In the evening, you'll travel to the Uluru sunset area where you'll enjoy nibbles, wine, a night sky tour and barbecue dinner.

The ancient red rock formations of Kata Tjuta rise from the dusty land to make an incredible sight in Central Australia. This morning, you'll see the sunrise at Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and take a walk with your guide to the Valley of the Winds. You'll hear fascinating stories of the geology, history and culture of Kata Tjuta. This incredible formation of rock domes extends six kilometres into the ground and is the remains of erosion that began more than 500 million years ago.

This morning, you'll visit one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, Uluru. Not only is it a spectacular natural formation, but Uluru is also a deeply spiritual place. You can feel a powerful presence the moment you set eyes on it. At 348 metres high, Uluru is one of the world’s largest monoliths, towering over the surrounding landscape and some 550 million years old. Today, you'll head out on a walking tour with your guide around the base of Uluru - 10.5 kilometres in total.

Today, you'll travel through desert scenery between Ayers Rock Resort and Alice Springs, your driver-guide will provide comprehensive commentary as you pass through the beautiful rugged scenery of the outback. You'll see the flat-topped Atila (Mt Conner) in the distance and stop at Erldunda Roadhouse where you may purchase afternoon tea. You'll then travel along the Stuart Highway before arriving in Alice Springs. You will be dropped off at your Alice Springs hotel.
