Starting from Hanoi and ending in Hoi An, this 8-day North and Central Vietnam itinerary offers visits to most of the World Heritage Sites in Vietnam from the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long in Hanoi and natural Halong Bay in the north to the complex of Hué monuments, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary in Central Vietnam.

Experiencing the local culture is a huge part of travelling; trying traditional food is largely connected with the Vietnamese cultural experience and so in each city, there is the special street food tasting tour, the best way to sample some of the famous local food in local restaurants.

This full-day city tour offers you the Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda followed by Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the city, originally constructed in the sixth century. You also visit the Temple of Literature, have a walk around the Sword Lake, visit Ngoc Son Temple and end the day with a cup of Vietnamese coffee at a street-pub.

Located in the Gulf of Tonkin in the northeast of Vietnam, Halong Bay boasts a magnificent scenery and covers an area of 43,400 ha and including over 1600 islands and islets, most of which are uninhabited, it forms a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars and is an ideal model of a mature karst landscape developed during a warm and wet tropical climate. The bay's exceptional scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.

Continue the cruise program exploring the bay, enjoying the bay's magnificent scenery of countless rugged limestone islands before transferring directly to Noi Bai Airport for your flight to Hue. Established as the capital of unified Viet Nam in 1802, Hue was not only the political but also the cultural and religious centre under the Nguyen dynasty until 1945. The Perfume River winds its way through the Hue Citadel giving this unique feudal capital a setting of great natural beauty.

Leave Hue for Hoi An with a visit My Son Sanctuary. Dating from the 4th to the 13th centuries, Cham was a unique culture on the coast of what is now contemporary Vietnam, with spiritual origins from the Hinduism of India. The spirituality of the Champa Kingdom is graphically illustrated by the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples in a dramatic site that was the religious and political capital of the Kingdom for most of its existence.
