Overview
This culture-focused 9-day Egypt package takes you to see the highlights of ancient Egypt, the land and its people!
You'll start in the capital city of Cairo, with the pyramids of Giza and the less-renowned Saqqara step pyramids. You'll see the collection of antiquities from the Egyptian Museum that offer an insight into the history of the country and then see what life is like today, with the vibrant culture and centre of activity at Khan el Khalili Bazaar.
You'll take the local overnight sleeper train and travel from south to north, arriving in Aswan to discover the beauty of the River Nile Valley. You'll explore Kom Ombo Temple, Kitchener Island, and Edfu with an optional visit to Abu Simbel.
The road trip between Aswan and Luxor is a great way to tap into the local life, from the countryside, villages and stunning scenery. Once in Luxor, you'll visit the famous Valley of the Kings and Queens, Valley of the Workers and Nobles, as well as Hepshatsut Temple.
A visit to Luxor would not be complete without a visit to Luxor and Karnac Temple, either by day or as part of the beautiful sound and light show at night.

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo

Day 2
Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Khan el Khalili Bazzar

Today, you'll start the tour at the source of all information - The Egyptian Museum. Here, you will do a two-hour guided visit and have another hour to explore by yourself at the end of the tour. You'll then drive into Old Cairo to visit the citadel, before ending the day at Khan el Khalili Bazaar where you can shop 'til you drop!

Pyramids of Giza & Saqqara Plateau

Today, you'll head into the desert region of Cairo to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza. You'll have lunch in a local restaurant before continuing deeper into the palm groves of Saqqara. In the late afternoon, you'll be transferred to Ramsis Train station for the overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Arrival in Aswan & Dinner with Local Nubian Family

After the overnight sleeper train journey from Cairo to Aswan, you'll be transferred from the station to your hotel in Aswan. You will have some time to relax at the hotel before heading to downtown Aswan to take a local motorboat across to the Nubian village for a tasty homemade dinner with a local family.

Botanic Gardens on Kitchener Island

Today you have the option to visit Abu Simbel on an early morning trip (4 am - 1 pm). Today, you will visit the beautiful botanical gardens of Kitcheners Island by crossing in a local motorboat - this is the best way to see life on the Nile.

Day 6
Road Trip from Aswan to Luxor to Kom Ombo and Edfu Temple

After breakfast, you'll continue your Egypt package on a road trip from Aswan to Luxor. The distance is about 220 kilometres, with stops to visit Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples en route. Depending on how long you spend at these sites, you can expect to arrive in Luxor at around 7 pm.

Today is a full day of sightseeing in Luxor's West Bank. You'll dive into ancient history, learn about the architectural wonders and advance systems that ancient Egypt invented that seem to be way before there time. Among many other sites, you'll visit the tombs, see the monuments and learn about the pharaohs of the bygone era.
