Biking along the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas, meandering the ruins of Cusco followed by a hike on the famed Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Biking in Peru offers you a chance to rediscover the core values of living: positive emotions, mindfulness, attaining new goals and achievement.

This nine-day adventure is custom-designed to suit individuals, couples, families and group tours as required. Peru as a biking trip is often rightly associated with high altitudes and this can be the case. All options covered as the best regular mountain bikes are offered and even electrically assisted E-bikes. Both are the perfect eco-friendly option to venture across this breathtaking land.

With E-bikes, you need have no fear of running short of breath as you always have a welcome push available for that upcoming hill. E-bikes in Peru are new and allow you to venture further each day off the beaten Inca tracks. These bikes are the finest quality branded machines such as Haibike and combined with the latest safety equipment.

Today, you'll arrive at Lima Airport in Peru. You'll take the shuttle service from the airport to the Holiday Inn Hotel Lima Airport, just 10 minutes away. You'll then have the rest of the afternoon and evening to relax after your long journey and before your travels from Lima to Machu Picchu.

This morning, you'll take the shuttle to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. This will be your first day at altitude, and so your guide will provide a short orientation walking tour of the centre of Cusco. It will follow with a visit to the local San Pedro Market. At this market, you can gain a wonderful insight into the amazing fruits and foods from across Peru and see how the local people live their daily lives. In the evening, maybe try a Pisco sour in one of the local bars or restaurants.

This great half-day bike riding trip is a superb introduction to the Inca heritage of Peru. Electrically assisted e-bikes ensure great flexibility for all riders. It includes the famous ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. The remaining carved rocks at Sacsayhuaman are up to 8.5 metres high and weigh over 360 tonnes. You will also enjoy the freedom of cycling along the hidden trails that surround this majestic ancient Incan city with stunning vistas.

You will be collected by your expert guide and brought by private vehicle to Saylla in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here, you'll mount your e-bikes and visit the Incan ruins of Tipon and Pikillacta, with a delicious picnic lunch at Huacarpay lake. You'll then venture toward the famed market town of Pisac, across the expanses of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There are options here to venture off-road and try some dirt tracks too. From Pisac, you'll be taken to your Sacred Valley hotel.

Today you'll cycle out from the Sacred Valley to the beautiful Lake Huaypo. Here, you'll take a break from cycling and enjoy some kayaking in this scenic setting. You'll also savour a native pachamanca lunch, a traditional Andean dish cooked under the earth with hot stones and consists of meat, beans, potatoes, corn and chilli among other delicious ingredients. After lunch, you'll cycle to the beautiful Maras Salt Pans and Moray Ruins. Then, you'll return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

This morning, you'll head off on a magnificent trek in the footsteps of the Inca. You'll take a private transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and board the train to the KM 104 trail marker to Machu Picchu. With a professional guide, Inca Trail permits and entrance to Machu Picchu, you'll make your grand entrance to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate for an unforgettable moment. A delicious box lunch is included. The trek will take around six hours and cover six miles in total.

Today's private tour includes an expansive 2.5-hour guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage. Your expert guide will allow you to see all the main sectors including the Caretakers Hut, Temple of the Sun, Royal Tomb, Three Windowed Temple, Intihuatana/Solar Clock and the Inca quarry. Capturing Machu Picchu with your very own eyes is without exception an experience never to be forgotten. Later, you'll catch the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel.

Today you have two wonderful route options, dependent on your biking capability. The first route is less physically demanding. It includes a visit to Ollantaytambo ruins and an e-bike ride to Urubamba via scenic trails along the Sacred Valley. The second is the tough route of e-biking Ollantaytambo to Lares to Calca with some superb descents en route. It is for seasoned mountain bikers across rarely used hidden country trails. Either route will include a vehicle transfer to Cusco.
