Over nine wonderful days, you'll take a trip to Croatia and Montenegro and see the best of these incredible countries.

You'll visit interest cities and nature in Croatia including the historic Pula, the capital city of Zagreb, the unique National Park of Plitvica Lakes, the beautiful city of Split, the fantastic medieval icon of Dubrovnik, the National Park of Krka and finally Zadar.

Whilst Croatia and Montenegro are small countries, both are extremely diverse presenting numerous opportunities to immerse yourself in nature and rich history.

Day 1

Arrive in Pula

Today, upon arrival, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the centre of Pula. You'll have the rest of the day free to spend as you wish once you have checked into your four-star hotel. You may want to relax by the swimming pool or head out to explore this historic city - the choice is yours!

Travel to Zagreb

Today, after breakfast at the hotel, you'll be driven from Pula to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Upon arrival, you'll head out on a guided tour of the city. This city is steeped in rich history which dates back to the Roman times between the 1st and 5th century. In 1991, Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia and Zagreb was named its capital. Its many buildings carry a reflection of the changes throughout the city's history and the interesting cultures that have shaped it.

Today, you'll leave Zagreb behind and continue your trip to Croatia and Montenegro in the city of Split! En route, you'll visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia's eight listed UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the country's most famous national park. The park encompasses the source of the Korana River which is surrounded by dense forest. After exploring the park, you'll travel a couple more hours to Split.

Dubrovnik is a quaint seaside city that is bursting with charm, stunning architecture and welcoming waters. The city is often referred to as 'Grad' by locals, as it is nationally known that the city has a particularly opulent culture and heritage. The city is a meld of old and new that makes it a fascinating place to explore.

Today, from Dubrovnik, you'll hop over the border into Montenegro to explore Kotor. You'll spend the whole day here taking in this medieval city classified by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage and surrounded by impressive walls and fortresses. From Kotor, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the magnificent scenery of the Bay of Kotor, often compared to the Norwegian fiords and scattered with medieval towns.

Day 6

Travel to Zadar via Krka National Park

Travel to Zadar via Krka National Park

Today, you'll travel to Zadar, a city best known for its ancient Roman and Venetian ruins located within its historic old town. It is surrounded by a defence wall which has several gates leading into the heart of the old town. En route to Zadar, you'll stop at the Krka National Park which is home to seven waterfalls and also the second-highest density of lavender in Europe. The Krka River is 72.5 kilometres long and runs through the park with several waterfalls spread along it.

Today, you'll travel to Opatija, a city that was once a 20th-century holiday destination for European Royalty, attracting the kings and queens of Europe. Famed for its history, walking through the town you'll see an illustration of its flamboyant past: resorts, hotels and churches depicting architectural periods of Baroque, Rennaissance and Venetian styles.

Moving swiftly on, today you'll travel the short two-hour journey to Rovinj, one of the most charming of the Meditteranean. Walking through the city, you'll see the influence, reaffirmed by the phrase 'a bit of Venice spilt on a hill'. During Venetian rule, the town was fortified with two defence walls that surround what is now the Old Town. This charming part of Rovinj is a labyrinth of cobbled stone streets and pastel colours.
