Overview

Croatia is a small country with a lot to offer! From the continental north to the Mediterranean south, this beautiful country provides a huge variety of scenery, culture, food, and architecture.

On this eight-day trip, you will go on a magnificent self drive Croatia tour through some of the country's best highlights. You will experience the capital city of Zagreb and visit several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You'll also visit Plitvice, home to one of Croatia's most beautiful and most famous national parks.

Croatia's hidden gems await you as you have the chance to explore stunning cities along the Adriatic coast. You'll also visit Zadar, known for its ancient Roman and Venetian ruins, and the beautiful medieval town of Trogir.

Whilst you may have heard of Split and Dubrovnik, you'll be shown a side to these stunning places that few travellers do along with even more hidden gems of Croatia.

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Welcome to Croatia and its capital city, Zagreb. Once you reach your hotel, you'll be able to check in and then enjoy some free time exploring this vibrant city with some recommendations from your guide. Prepare yourselves for a fun self drive Croatia experience.

Day 2

Explore Plitvice Lakes National Park

Explore Plitvice Lakes National Park

You'll leave Zagreb and drive south towards Plitvice Lakes. On the way to Plitvice, there are many small picturesque villages, such as Rastoke, to stop at. Once you arrive in Plitvice, you will go hiking in the most famous Croatian National park – Plitvice Lakes. Since 1979, the Park has been a part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Plitvice is home to about one-third of all known orchids. You will walk the chosen paths, see many waterfalls and experience the best sights.

Discover Zadar & Skradin

Today, you'll be driving to the Zadar area with its historic peninsula. You'll be able to see layers of history, from Roman ruins, through medieval buildings to modern architecture. You'll also find some of the best ice creams in Croatia here! You'll then continue to Skradin, a small town on the banks of River Krka. Feel free to explore the local marina area and fortress at the top of the hill! Skradin is situated at the entrance of the National Park and its great place to start exploring.

Krka National Park to Trogir

Krka National Park to Trogir

Today, you will visit yet one more of Croatia’s highlights, Krka National Park, named after the Krka River. Apart from the beautiful scenery, you will also see and learn how people used to live in the old days along the banks of the river by visiting the restored ethnic village. After the national park, you will head to Trogir, a beautiful coastal city more than 2,000 years old and recognised by UNESCO’s World Heritage. Here, you can get lost in narrow stone streets of this little city.

Day 5

From Trogir to Split to Ston

From Trogir to Split to Ston

Today, you will leave Trogir behind and head towards Split to explore cultural and art centre of Croatia. You'll walk through basements of Diocletian's Palace which was built in 304 AD and explore medieval Split with its narrow stone streets. Leaving split behind, you'll travel north to Ston, a medieval town which dates back to the 14th century and is home to the longest stone wall in Europe. After exploring this charming town, you'll check into your hotel for the night.

Explore Pelješac, Ston and Korčula

Explore Pelješac, Ston and Korčula

Before you leave for Korcula, you'll be able to explore Ston, a beautiful Croatian city on the Croatian coast. You'll then travel to Pelješac, an area known for its steep-sloped vineyards. The whole of this peninsula is basically a wine region. Here, you'll explore the vineyards and go for a wine tasting. You'll then drive to Korcula, an island and town known for its hidden beaches, quiet alcoves, vineyards, olive orchards and local villages. You'll arrive in Dubrovnik in the early evening.

Today, you'll explore Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic Sea and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of the biggest city walls in Europe. There are many must-see things to do in Dubrovnik and one of them is walking the city walls to learn about the rich history of this unique place. You may also want to take the cable car up to Srd Hill for an amazing panoramic view of Dubrovnik and to visit the French fortress at the top of the hill. Don't forget to also enjoy some local wine in a wine bar!
