This Rome and Amalfi Coast itinerary sees you indulging in eight wonderful days exploring the best of the Italian Cities. You will spend your trip in the stunning, UNESCO-protected Amalfi Coast, and the Eternal City of Rome. During this time, you will discover and explore the best Italian cities in the centre of the country.

Beginning on the world-famous Amalfi Coast, you'll spend your days exploring islands known for their rich lifestyle, tasting ingredients and dishes native to the regions.

You'll then arrive in Rome where you'll discover the smallest country in the world, the Vatican City, along with the rest of ancient Rome's treasures.

Day 1

Begin your Rome and Amalfi Coast itinerary today! Your private Mercedes will wait for you outside the airport to drive you to the hotel in Amalfi Coast. Your guide will give you an Italian sim card you can use for free calls, SMS and internet during your stay. On the way to your hotel in Positano, you'll stop in Pompeii for a guided tour of the archaeological site which was once a thriving city which was buried under 30 feet of ash following a volcanic eruption.

Today, you'll enjoy a full day out driving along the most stunning parts of the Amalfi Coast. You'll drive along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed roads on 'state route 163' – a masterpiece of human engineering. During the day, you'll stop twice to indulge in the region's most famed products: mozzarella and limoncello. You will learn all about how these two typical local products are made as well as a tasting.

Explore Capri

Today, your personal driver will take you to the Amalfi pier where you will take the ferry boat to Capri Island. You will enjoy a visit to the island famous for its designer shops, anchored yachts and chic hotels. You'll dine in a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant and explore the island by Vespa, a typical Italian vehicle, which is a must whilst you're here. You'll then head back to your hotel in Positano in the evening.

Today you will have free time to relax and enjoy the area. Positano boasts a perfect panoramic position overlooking the sea from its cliffside location. Its cobblestone streets are lined with pastel-coloured houses and around each corner, you'll find more and more boutique shops and pavement cafes. Built by the ancient Romans, this charming town is home to a number of villas, the Church dell'Assunta and the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Amalfi Coast to Rome

Continue your Rome and Amalfi Coast itinerary today. This morning after breakfast, your personal driver will take you to Rome; the journey will take around four hours. Once you arrive in Rome, you'll check in and then begin a tour of the city centre to discover the monuments and the palace of the Baroque period. You'll visit the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza di Spagna. The dinner will be served at a Michelin-guide restaurant with an astonishing view of the Colosseum.

Today after breakfast you will visit the Vatican City, the world’s smallest country and the centre of the Catholic world. Whilst here, you'll visit the impressive St. Peter’s Square and Basilica as well as explore the Vatican Museums, Raffaello’s rooms and the Sistine Chapel which its beautiful frescoed ceiling. You'll then have some free time for lunch, before heading out on a tour of Rome by a typical Italian vehicle, a Vespa!

You can begin with a typical cooking class which involves a guided visit to Rome's Esquilino Market before heading back to cook up a storm with a professional chef. You'll then discover Rome with your guide, beginning at Michelangelo's Campidoglio (Capitoline Hill) where you can look out over imperial Rome before heading down to the Imperial Forums and the ruins of the Colosseum.
