Overview
On this exciting 8-day trip you will get the chance to explore the unique landscapes of northeastern Brazil, home to far-reaching sand dunes, a stunning national park and historic colonial architecture.
Starting in Lençóis Maranhenses, explore the river trails and spectacular sand dunes that make up for much of the scenery in this region. During your time here you will explore the Preguiças River by boat and have a chance to taste some of the best seafood in the area.
Continue your trip in Jericoacoara, a beach town renowned for its sparkling white sands and freshwater lagoons. You can spend your days here kitesurfing and windsurfing on Preá Beach or taking a dip in the azure waters of Paradise Lagoon for a truly unforgettable trip.

Itinerary
Day 1
Explore Sao Luis' Charming Historical Centre

Upon arrival at São Luís airport, you will be transferred to the historical city centre. Stroll on the narrow cobblestone streets and witness the rich ancient architecture of the well-preserved mansions, churches and squares. The charm of this city is imprinted in the hand-painted Portuguese wall tiles decorating every house and low-rise. After the visit, you will be transferred to Barreirinhas, where you will be staying the next few nights.

Day 2
Boat Ride and Canto do Atins

In the morning, you will be taken to the pier to embark on a boat and sail along the Preguiças River towards Atins. In Porto de Fora, a 4x4 vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and take you to a lagoon at Canto do Atins, a transfer that will take approximately 30 minutes. Enjoy some free time sunbathing and swimming in the lagoons of Atins before enjoying lunch at the famous restaurant Camarão do Canto Atins. Finally, you will be transferred back to the port to return to Barreirinhas.

Day 3
Full-Day Discovering Lençóis Maranhenses National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, you will enjoy a full day exploring the natural beauty found in Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Experience a marvellous walk through the numerous sand dunes and river trails here that make up much of the landscape. The dunes are also dotted with large rainwater lagoons that you can swim in, and you will pay a visit to a number of them, including the beautiful Lagoa Bonita and Lagoa Azul.

Day 4
Boat Ride and Journey to Parnaíba

After breakfast, take a speedboat ride along the Preguiças River and visit a local family that produces flour in their home. On the way, stop in Vassouras and in Mandacatu to visit the local lighthouse where you can enjoy the view of the Pequenos Lençois and the sea. Later, depart by car to Parnaíba, in Piauí. The trip takes around 4h, alternating between sand, land and ground paths. During the journey, you will pass through many picturesque villages.

Travel to Jericoacoara

After breakfast, you will make the 3-hour journey to Jericoacoara. Leaving Piauí behind on the way to Ceará, the road passes through amazing dunes and river landscapes beside it. After crossing a sea arm by ferry, you will arrive in Jericoacoara. In the afternoon you are free to try kitesurfing or windsurfing in Preá beach, one of the most sought after places in Brazil for the practice of these sports.

Pedra Furada, Prea Village and Blue Lagoon

After breakfast at your hotel, today you will explore Jericoacoara's most interesting sights. Start the day by walking to Pedra Furada, an incredible rock formation formed over many years due to the sea's erosion. After, a buggy will take you to visit Prea village, known for being one of the best kitesurfing spots in Brazil. Finally, you will head to Lagoa Azul, a beautiful lagoon that is surrounded by white sand dunes - the perfect place for a refreshing dip.

Free Day in Jericoacoara

Today you will have a free day to relax in Jericoacoara at your leisure. It remains its charm as a small fishing village but has pristine waters to swim in and beautiful lagoons to visit. You can catch some sun on the well-kept beach, or if you're feeling more adventurous, you can set sail on the azure waters, as there are plenty of sailboats that will take you out for the day or an evening paddle. In the evening you can go to Duna do Por do Sol, one of the best places to watch the sun go down.
