Discover the highlights of Peru in just one week!

You will begin the week in Cusco, where you will have the opportunity to explore this ancient Incan capital, wander around its streets and visit the surrounding ruins such as Sacsayhuaman and Q'enko to learn about the fascinating history of this region.

The trip will then explore the Sacred Valley's famous sites of Pisac, Maras Salt Flats and the Ollantaytambo ruins. After a train ride surrounded by nature, you'll take a majestic Machu Picchu tour for a dreamlike experience seeing this amazing historical site.

Next, you will discover the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca, before spending some free time in Lima.

This action-packed week will give you a short glimpse of the beauties of Peru.

Day 1

Arrive in Cusco

You will be met at Cusco airport and transferred to the hotel. English speaking assistance will be provided from the airport to the hotel. Once you arrive at your hotel, you'll check in and then have the rest of the afternoon and evening to relax after your travels. If you would like to go and explore or head to a restaurant, your hotel or guide will be able to provide recommendations for where to eat and what to do.

This morning after breakfast, you'll depart for a half-day tour dedicated to discovering the ruins around Cusco (Sacsayhuaman and Q'enqo) and the historical centre. You'll visit of the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cusco Cathedral which has many paintings of the Cusquenian School, treasures of goldsmiths, silver and precious stones. After the tour, you will have the rest of the afternoon free to spend as you wish in Cusco.

Day 3

Visit the Sacred Valley

Visit the Sacred Valley

Today, you'll leave Cusco behind and travel to Machu Picchu, exploring the Sacred Valley en route. The first stop will be at the ruins of Pisac where you will observe the large terraces that were used for agriculture to protect from the effects of erosion. Then, you will take a walk around the colourful Pisac Market full of handicrafts. The next stop is the Salt Flats of Maras and finally, you will take a train to Aguas Calientes, the base point for your Machu Picchu tour.

This morning, you'll catch the shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world. Together with your English-speaking guide, you will discover this vast archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices. A stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun! Afterwards, you'll have some free time for lunch and the chance ascend Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machu Picchu before catching the train to Poroy.

Journey Across the Peruvian Altiplano

Your English-speaking guide will accompany you from the hotel to the bus station where you'll board your tourist bus to Puno. En route, you'll enjoy wonderful landscapes such as the Raya Pass, at an altitude of 4,320 metres. You'll visit the town of Pucara, the archaeological site of Raqchi, and the Raqchi Temple. Lunch will be a restaurant in Sicuani and an English-speaking guide, exclusive to the bus company, will be a part of the journey. You'll arrive in Puno around 5pm.

Uros Floating Islands & Taquile Island on Titicaca Lake

Today, you'll embark on a collective boat tour of the islands of Uros and Taquile with an English/Spanish-speaking guide. First, you will visit the Uros floating islands which are not natural but were built by the Uros tribe, whose main activity is fishing. You'll then head to Taquile (a 2-hour cruise away), an island whose inhabitants have remained without contact with the outside world for four centuries and preserved their ancient way of life. In the evening, you'll fly to Lima.
