Overview
A visit to Rwanda is incredible, unforgettable, and offers a fascinating experience when crowned with gorilla, chimp ,golden monkey treks, hike of the canopy, visits to a museum and a cultural village. This absolutely amazing Rwanda safari connects you with the only few remaining home ranges to the great apes, more so the critically endangered mountain gorillas.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at Kigali Airport

Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You have the evening free, so you can either dine at the hotel or wander into the city.

Day 2
Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, you will briefly visit the Ethnographic Museum before later stopping for lunch at the Ibis Restaurant. You should arrive at the One&Only Nyungwe House mid-afternoon. Relax and enjoy the evening in the lodge.

Day 3
Nyungwe Chimp Trek & Canopy Walk

This morning early breakfast and depart for your chimp trek. As you are guided through the forest in search of chimps, keep an eye out for birdlife, the park is well known for it. Lunch will be served at the lodge. In the afternoon you will return to the park for a canopy walk. The evening is at your leisure.

Travel to Volcano National Park

Have an early breakfast at the lodge. You will check out and begin the scenic journey to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, close to the Volcanoes National Park. In the afternoon, you will visit the IbyiIwacu village for a cultural experience.

Day 5
Gorilla Trek & Free Time

Early breakfast at the lodge then drive to the park headquarters for your Gorilla Trek briefing. You will enter the park at around 8. After what will certainly be a memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. You have the afternoon free for an optional activity. Trekking to the Dian Fossey Tomb Tour: The trek involves a 30 minutes drive and a 1.5-hour trek to Dian’s grave. It is so inspiring to learn about someone who was so dedicated and left a legacy that exists even today.

Day 6
Golden Monkey Trek & Return to Kigali

Today is the final day of your Rwanda safari. Rise early in the morning and have breakfast at the lodge. Proceed to the Park’s headquarters for briefing about your trek. You will then enter the park in search of the Golden Monkeys. Lunch will be served at the lodge. You will then checkout and travel back to Kigali. A final farewell dinner will be served at the Pili Pili Restaurant, after which you will be dropped off at the airport.
