Overview
Experience the colonial splendour of Yangon which is one of Myanmar’s most busy and exciting cities. To see a completely different side of Myanmar, you'll travel to the Shan Hills to explore the unique biosphere of Inle Lake with its villages on stilts and floating gardens. Inle Lake is remarkably different from the three key tourist destinations of Myanmar: Yangon, Bagan and Mandalay as it is where many different traditions and cultures sit side-by-side.
One of thes best experiences in Inle Lake is taking a ride on one of the slender long-tail wooden boats used by the locals. The views of the calm lake with the backdrop of the mountains make for a relaxing location for your holiday.

Day 1
Arrival in Yangon

Today is your arrival day in Yangon and your journey starts after you are picked up at the airport. Once you have checked into the hotel, you'll head out on your first tour in Myanmar. Enjoy the architecture of this wonderful city as you see the highlights of Yangon! You'll visit the most important sights in the city and have a brief introduction to the history of the city.

Day 2
From Yangon to Inle Lake
Hide details
You will fly to the Shan State to visit Inle Lake, famous for its floating villages and gardens and the unique way of life of the local Intha people, with their living communities based entirely on the water. When you arrive, you'll be taken on a tour of the lake and visit two temples that are built on stilts, similar to the houses. Although very old, these temples are made entirely from wood and impeccably well preserved.

Indein and Inle Lake Sightseeing

Today, you'll go to the neighbouring Indein village to the west of Inle Lake, known for its market and two groups of ancient pagodas. You'll visit a series of pagodas and workshops that will give you a unique insight into the innovative ways of building and making things that the villagers have. You'll continue to serval other villages to meet the locals of Inle Lake.

Sakar Sightseeing
Hide details
After breakfast at the hotel, take the boat to Sakar. It takes about three hours to get to Sakar. On the way, visit Naung Bo, a Pa O village where you can visit a pottery workshop. You'll also learn about the local methods of producing a high degree of alcohol, (CS-country spirit) where is fermented and extracted from bran rice. Walking through Sakar Village, you'll visit some workshops.

Departure from Myanmar
