Experience the colonial splendour on this Yangon tour, one of Myanmar’s most busy and exciting cities.

You'll cover all of Myanmar's historic capitals as you go to Mandalay, the last royal capital of the third Myanmar Empire. Mandalay is situated in the centre of the country, north of Yangon. Being the largest city after Yangon that is both a bustling commercial centre and a repository of ancient culture, the country's cultural capital is a showcase for Burmese art and architecture.

Take in the sights of the remarkable riverside city that flourishes with culture and is renowned for its various traditional arts and crafts such as weaving, bronze casting, marble work, wood carving, gold embroidery, silversmithing, a gold leaf industry and so much more. Your trip cannot end without visiting Ava, one of the most interesting former capitals as it is completely abandoned! You'll get to explore this empty city that still has all of its structures intact, an eery yet fascinating insight into ancient Burma!

Day 1

Today is your arrival day in Yangon and your journey starts after you are picked up at the airport. Once you have checked into the hotel, you'll head out on your Yangon tour. Enjoy the architecture of this wonderful city as you see the highlights of Yangon! You'll visit the most important sights in the city and have a brief introduction to the history of the city.

Day 2

Fly to Mandalay and Sightseeing

Fly to Mandalay and Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to airport for your flight to Mandalay. Today, you'll go sightseeing to visit the venerable Muhamuni Pagoda, then go to the marble works, the wood carving workshop, gold-leaf making and the tapestry works. In the afternoon, visit Shwe Kyaung (Golden Palace) Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda and enjoy the sunset at the Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city.

Day 3

Mingun and Sagaing

Mingun and Sagaing

In the morning, you'll visit the sights of Mingun, stopping by old temples and visiting the second-largest bell in the world. In the afternoon, it's on to another area called Sagaing where you'll visit some temples before climb Sagaing Hill, dotted with pagodas, shrines and monasteries. One of the highlights of the day will be stopping by a silversmithing workshop, where you'll see the artisans at work. In the evening, return to Mandalay.

Day 4

Ava and Amarapura Sightseeing

Ava and Amarapura Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll spend the morning visiting the Jade Market, Mahagandayon Buddhist Monastery and silk weaving workshop. Afterwards, drive to Royal Capital of Ava, which is now called Innwa. Your tour highlights include Bargayar Monastery, Maha Aung Myay Bone Zan Monastery and Nan Myint Watch Tower. You'll get the boat back to Mandalay in time to enjoy the sunset from U Bein Wooden Bridge.
