Overview
Go trekking in Morocco and become totally immersed into the richness of the Berber communities in the High Atlas Mountains during this four-day trip!
Beginning in the red, mud-baked city of Marrakesh, you'll explore the city before heading off into the mountains. Even though it is only a short drive away, it will feel like a world away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.
Staying with local Berber families and eating with them in their homes, you'll not only save money on this trip but you will have an authentic Morrocan experience like no other. Each day, you will trek through local villages observing daily life and meeting friendly locals who will be so eager to chat with you!
The pace is leisurely and this allows you a great deal of time to enjoy the scenery, nature, to stop, to look, to photograph and to let all your senses take it in.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Marrakesh

Upon arrival in Marrakesh, you will be collected by a private driver from the airport and taken to your accommodation. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may wish to spend some leisure time in the city's Old Medina; there are so many interesting things happening there. Marrakesh is a city that overwhelms the senses from the smells of the spices in the medina to the bustle of the souks!

Day 2
Into the High Atlas: Your Hike Begins!

After breakfast, a short drive in private transport with driver will take you to Amizmiz, a small rural market town in the foothills of the High Atlas, just an hour from the city. Here, you will meet your countryside guide (and mule), who will be with you for the three days that you are trekking in Morocco. You'll have a discussion to ensure that your hike is of the correct nature and style to suit your needs and then you'll begin this wonderful Berber experience!

Day 3
Hiking Amongst Berber Communities

Your immersion in Berber culture continues today as you hike through several Berber villages, passing by local farmlands. It may be today that you visit a traditional potter. There will be much to wonder at and absorb on your hike. Invitations in for tea are likely too so be open. Being amongst real life is very much the aim of your hiking in the High Atlas; the lifestyle will be so very different from your own. In the late afternoon, you'll return to Marrakesh.
