You'll have a drive at your beck and call for the duration of your trip. As the former capital of the Lanna Kingdom of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a city that keeps its traditions at heart. With stunning ancient temples unlike anywhere else in Thailand, the Lanna style prevails with the utmost preservation. As an introduction to what Chiang Mai has to offer, head up to Doi Suthep for the day to see stunning temples and pilgrimage sites, and perhaps, go for a walk in the national park.
