Overview
Tana Toraja is a very special and mysterious place, also known as ‘The Land of the Heavenly Kings’ and is located in the south of Sulawesi - another beautiful island in the massive Indonesian Archipelago.
Over three days, you will learn all about the unique Tana Toraja region and the local culture. You will see ‘the village of the dead’ where you will learn more about the significant funeral traditions of the Toraja people. In the meantime, the stunning unspoiled surroundings will take your breath away making for an amazing trip!

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Makassar & Drive to Tana Toraja

After your plane lands at Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, Sulawesi, a professional guide will be there to pick you up and drive you straight to the first island to start your Tana Toraja tour. It's an 8-hour drive but won’t be boring whatsoever! The drive has been turned into a wonderful sightseeing tour, passing typical Buginese Villages and those iconic traditional houses on poles. Upon arrival at your hotel, set high in the mountains, you'll have some time to relax before your adventures.

Full-Day Tana Toraja Tour

After a good night rest and a delightful breakfast, you'll continue your journey on these sacred lands to Kete’ Kesu, a traditional Torajan village with beautiful Tongkonan houses. You will visit the giant tomb of the royal Kere’ Kesu family. Then, you will visit Lemo, one of the oldest burial cliffs in Toraja, an ancient burial cave Londa, a mysterious stone monument from the megalithic Era - Bori, Tinombayo Highlands, cultural town of Rantepao and more graves at Lokomata.

Tana Toraja to Makassar

Today, your tour comes to an end! You'll enjoy a good hearty breakfast and then head back to Makassar where you will hop on the plane to your next travel destination. Gaze at those stunning sceneries one more time on the way - this is your last chance! For lunch, you will stop at Pare-Pare, a great seafood restaurant, and you will arrive at Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar in the afternoon.
