Overview

The trip in Mandalay includes Mahagandayon Monastery where hundreds of young Novice are studying Buddhist literature. Experience a traditional horse cart ride at Ava and in Sagaing Hill, the hillsides are dotted with numerous pagodas and monasteries.

Your final day of the trip takes you to Pwe Kauk Falls which is a very pleasant area of natural beauty in Pyin Oo Lwin where many Myanmar families come for a picnic. There is so much to see of our beautiful country on this incredible 3-day adventure!

Day 1

Mandalay Arrival and Sightseeing

When you arrive in Mandalay, you'll visit Mahagandayon Monastery where hundreds of young Novice (Sanga) are studying. Partake in a joyful excursion to the Mahagandayon Monastery by horse cart at Ava (Innwa). Then continue onto Sagaing Hill, where beautiful hillsides are dotted with numerous pagodas and monasteries. Transfer back via U-Bein Bridge and enjoy the sunset.

Today we visit Mingun, a village on the west bank of the river. Settawya Pagoda, Mingun Pahtotawgyi, the world-renowned Mingun Bell and the Myatheintan Pagoda are your first locations to visit today. Then, head to Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Shwenandaw Monastery, the Golden Palace, noted for its exquisite wood carving, and finish at Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the home of the world’s biggest book with its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures. In the evening, we will enjoy the sunset from Mandalay Hill.

Pyin Oo Lwin Sightseeing

Today, before leaving, you'll do a return trip to Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo). We pay a visit to the National Kandawgyi Park which is a 177-hectare botanical garden, followed by a trip to the magnificent Chinese Temple. Take in the PweKauk Waterfall where many Myanmar families come for a picnic, and Peik Chin Myaung Cave. In the evening we drive back to Mandalay, ready for your onward journey.
