Day 1
Welcome to Kangaroo Island!

Today you begin your Kangaroo Island trip! Catch the ferry from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island and on arrival, begin experiencing Kangaroo Island's local produce and spectacular scenery with a bottle of Kangaroo Island wine waiting for you. It was called the 'Island of the Dead' by the tribes in the southern part of the Australian mainland around the Murray River, probably because a creation being from the Dreamtime, Ngurunderi, crossed to the island, from where he travelled to the Milky Way.

The island with it all; as soon as your step off the ferry onto Kangaroo Island, you'll begin experiencing the best of Australia's most memorable nature, wine, produce and wildlife. Known as nature's playground, the island boasts 509 kilometres of coastline with native bushland and beautiful scenery in between. On Kangaroo Island, pretty sunsets, pristine beaches, interactions with local wildlife and wine tasting will form the backbone of your days.
