Start in Hanoi, then experience the rich and unique culture of North West hill tribes in and around Sa Pa, before immersing yourself in the imposing scenery of Halong Bay.

After breakfast, you have a full day today to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his personal residence, the One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda and end the morning with a visit to the Museum of Ethnology. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple nearby Hoan Kiem Lake, and enjoy a one-hour cyclo sightseeing tour around Hanoi Old Quarter. Then, watch a traditional water puppet show.

After breakfast, you will drive to Sapa from Hanoi which takes around 5 hours. You can stop for a break or take photos en route. After checking in at the hotel, take a rest in Sapa. In the afternoon, visit Thac Tien Waterfall (1.3-kilometre walk) and stop at O Quy Ho pass (Heaven's Gate) to enjoy the beautiful view. Return to Sapa and enjoy some leisure time after.

Have breakfast which is prepared by your host. After that, start hiking through the villages of Muong Hoa Valley, and enjoy the view of the largest rice terrace fields in Sapa. Then walk up to the main road where you will return Sapa town by car. Check-in to your hotel in Sapa and stay overnight there.

Wake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea and a light breakfast before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk to take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay. Have lunch on the boat before returning to Halong pier to meet your driver who will take you back to Hanoi.

Then, visit the Imperial Citadel, home to the Imperial City and Forbidden Purple City – once the Emperor's private residence. The Imperial enclosure houses many palaces and temples within its walls. Later on, absorb the energy, sounds and smells of the bustling Dong Ba Market.

After that, drive to Hoi An - the highlight of any tour to Vietnam - an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port from 15th to the 19th century.

After breakfast, take a visit to My Son Holy Land, once the spiritual capital of Champa Kingdom that dominated South East Asia for nearly a thousand years and occupied most of the central parts of Vietnam from 2nd century to 16th century. In the afternoon, drive back to Hoi An and visit the former merchant's homes, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda and the colourful riverside market. Then enjoy some leisure time in the ancient town.

In the morning, drive outside of Ho Chi Minh City to visit the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels are an underground labyrinth of passageways, used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, head back to the city for a visit to the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office which are fine examples of classical French colonial architecture. After that, you'll finish the day by visiting the War Remnants Museum and the bustling Ben Thanh Market.
