Overview

Embark on a journey through three stunning Southeast Asian countries on this 18-day Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia tour!

This trip includes the World Heritage sites in the North and Central Vietnam: Hanoi, Halong Bay and Phong Nha National Park.

After that, you'll travel to Laos to visit Luang Prabang, the former capital city of Laos. You'll then continue with a visit to the widest section of the Mekong river, where during the dry season the waters recede and leave behind thousands of islets, giving this area a lovely name” Si Phan Done”, 4000 Islands.

You'll continue your journey to Siem Reap in Cambodia to learn a little more, as you approach the world famous Angkor. You will have a few days to deeply understand the epic cultural impact that the Khmer Empire left in Siem Reap as you venture from temple to temple to snatch a glimpse of life during the days of Angkor.

With some of the key attractions of three countries in one trip, this is really a great experience, giving you an insight into the Indochina region!

After breakfast, explore Vietnam’s charming capital. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his personal residence, the One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda, and finish the morning with a visit to the Museum of Ethnology. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature and Ngoc Son Temple near Hoan Kiem Lake. Then, enjoy a one-hour cyclo sightseeing tour around Hanoi Old Quarter before watching a traditional water puppet show.

Leave the city early for the 3.5-hour drive (170 kilometres) through the Red River Delta, which offers plenty of chances to take photos of Vietnamese farmers tilling the vast green paddy fields. Arrive at Halong pier, check-in and board your junk and enjoy a 24-hour journey in the amazing bay. Savour a gourmet lunch of fresh seafood onboard as you sail out into the mystical bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities in the bay or just spend some time relaxing. Dinner is served on board.

Wake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise. Enjoy a light breakfast before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowing boat. Then, return to the junk to take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay. Have brunch on board before returning to the pier then, drive back to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Dong Hoi. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to Phong Nha, about a half an hour drive.

Stay overnight at Folie Lodge, the “Red Island”, a charming car-free island, part of the Champasak cultural and natural heritage, that sits along the Mekong River, on a beach facing the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Vat Phu.

You'll embark on a longtail boat to discover the widest section of the Mekong river, where during the dry season the waters recede and leave behind thousands of islets, giving this area a lovely name” Si Phan Done”. Explore the local peaceful villages of Ban Khone and continue to the 4000 islands to visit the marvellous Li Phi waterfall AKA the "Corridor of the Devil". If you are lucky, you may even see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy dolphin in Ban Hang Khone.

Today, you'll drive to Pakse for a short flight to Siem Riep. Upon arrival, your guide will take you to the hotel before visiting the mighty Angkor Wat. You'll start with the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom and the unique temple of Bayon, a collection of 54 Gothic towers decorated with 216 coldly smiling, enormous faces glaring down from every angle. Following this, you'll go to to the Baphoun temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King.

Today, you'll explore the enchanting temple of the Banteay Srei, the jewel in the crown of Angkorian art. Banteay Srei means ‘Citadel of the Women’. In the afternoon, we visit the Banteay Samre, which dates from the same period as Angkor Wat. Afterwards, you'll continue to the monuments of Rolous, which served as Indravarman I’s capital. The temples were built by the Khmer and mark the beginning of the age of Khmer classical art.

After breakfast today, you'll discover more of Angkor Wat. In the morning, you'll visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Then, to the Pre Rup Temple, East Mebon Temple and Neak Poan temple in the late morning. In the afternoon, you'll visit Krovan, Royal Bath of Srah Srang and Banteay Kdei temples.

In the afternoon, you'll have some free time to relax or do some last-minute shopping before you are transferred to Siem Reap International Airport for your departure flight.
