This 15-day trip has the best combination of exploration, relaxation and adventure while touring in Sri Lanka!

Visit the world-famous Kalpitiya and Arugam Bay to engage in fun-filled water activities such as kite surfing, windsurfing or simply relax at its golden beaches and visit the local historical monuments. You will also experience a dolphin and whale watching excursion to meet the gentle giants of the ocean.

You'll go to the city of Anuradhapura and Trincomalee, to discover historical and religious monuments, and also engage in snorkelling activities at Pigeon Island, known for its diverse marine species and reefs.

Travel to Sigiriya to experience the typical village-style living in Sri Lanka and also Kandy, where you'll experience the mystical Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and participate in the morning religious ceremony.

You'll visit Udawalawe National Park and Minneriya National Park to go on safaris and witness wildlife with some of the largest gatherings of animals in the world! After an adventure-filled two weeks, you'll finish your trip in Fort Galle and explore the UNESCO World Heritage sights before finishing your trip in Colombo, the capital and the city which never sleeps!

Day 1

Today, you'll arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport, meet your chauffeur guide and then depart to Kalpitiya. It is an exquisite coastal region located on the western coastal belt, north of Colombo. You'll check in to your Cabana in Palagama Beach Resort where you can lay back and enjoy the sun, sea and sand. Kalpitiya is one of the best locations for kitesurfing, and after lunch, you can head out into the water!

This morning, you'll head down to the harbour where you can sail off to the sea and enjoy a whale and dolphin watching tour. Kalpitiya is the perfect location to spot over one thousand pods of Dolphins. This morning excursion is about 3 to 4 hours. With great winds, in the late afternoon, you can enjoy more kitesurfing or relaxing by the beach.

After an authentic Sri Lankan breakfast, you will start your journey to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura, a Ceylonese political and religious capital that flourished for 1,300 years, was abandoned after an invasion in 993. After checking in to your hotel, you can proceed on a city tour where you can visit the palaces, monasteries and monuments.

After breakfast in the ancient city, you'll drive to Trincomalee, a city that sits on the world’s finest natural harbours. On the way, you will stop at Kanniya Hot Water Wells. According to the local beliefs, the history of Kanniya hot water spring dates back to the Ravana era. In the late afternoon, you'll take a boat ride to Pigeon Island for snorkelling or diving on Nilavali Beach. This National Park consists of two small islands and gets its name from the Blue Rock Pigeon, a native bird.

Later in the day, you can enjoy some snorkelling or perhaps, diving, at Nilavali Beach or Marble Beach and visit the magnificent Fort Frederick which was built by the Portuguese before returning to your hotel for dinner.

After breakfast, you'll drive to the rural village of Hiriwaduna. Today's adventure tour in Sri Lanka begins with a beautiful walk along the man-made reservoir. Go on a boat ride and a bullock cart ride past paddy fields. After lunch and checking to your hotel, you'll have some free time to enjoy the lush tropical greenery and the outdoor pool. In the late afternoon, you'll head out on safari to spot Asia's largest elephant gathering in Minneriya National Park.

After an early breakfast, you'll climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Later on, you'll proceed to Kandy which was the last Kingdom. En-route, you'll visit the Highland Spice Garden for an introduction to Sri Lankan indigenous Ayurveda plants, spices and enjoy a free 15-minute Ayurveda massage. You'll then check into your hotel and proceed to visit the Gem Museum, Batik Factory and Wood Carving Factory followed by viewing an entertaining Kandyan Cultural Dance Show performance.

This morning, you'll visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy and take part in the daily morning veneration ceremony conducted at the temple. Afterwards, you will proceed on a scenic journey to Nuwara Eliya. En-route, you will stop to see the breathtaking Ramboda Falls and Lover's Leap Falls. Later, you will experience the full process of tea production at a Tea Factory, walk through a lush Strawberry Farm and visit the famous Gregory Lake for a scenic walk.

You'll start your day with a visit to the Seetha Amman temple. This place is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by King Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Later, you'll head down to Arugam Bay also known as the best surfing point in Sri Lanka. You'll spend the rest of the day surfing or relaxing on the beach.

Walking up and down the main street, you’ll see that there are tons of yoga places in Arugam. It’s a great way to start the day, get some exercise and relax a bit. You'll visit Panama Tank also known as Crocodile Point. It’s a short 15- to 20-minute moto ride from Arugam Bay, basically just one path to drive along and explore. This stunning landscape is perfect for photos. You’ll probably see a few crocodiles and admire the green paddy fields that surround the pond.
