Overview

Discover one of the world's most captivating countries over 15 wonderful days on this Brazil itinerary. From its white-sand beaches and lush rainforests to its bustling metropolises and historic, colonial towns, Brazil oozes diversity in every sense.

Beginning in Rio de Janeiro, you'll spend a few days exploring this mass city, much of which is covered by rainforest before moving onto Iguaçu Falls on the Argentina-Brazil border. Following that, you'll head deep into the Amazon for a three-day adventure before moving onto the State of Bahia, home to the much-loved city of Salvador.

After a few days in Salvador, you'll move up the Coconut Coast to Imbassai where you'll spend your last few days relaxing on the beach and engaging in the wealth of fun activities on offer here!

Day 1

Today you begin the journey on your Brazil itinerary. You will be welcomed at the airport (time and flight number to be confirmed) by your English-speaking guide and transferred to your hotel. You'll spend the night at the Royal Rio Hotel and once checked in, you'll have the rest of the day free to explore Rio or relax on Copacabana Beach, one of the city's most famous beaches.

Today, you'll embark on a city tour with your English-speaking guide, firstly going up the iconic Corcovado, a world-renowned symbol of Rio. Later, you'll visit Santa Teresa, which used to be one of the wealthiest residential neighbourhoods of Rio. Santa Teresa now shelters a diverse population in the bohemian quarter of modern Rio. In Lapa, you'll visit the Escadaria do Convento da Santa Teresa. Later, you'll visit another icon of the city: the world-famous Sugarloaf Mountain.

Located in the heart of the city, Tijuca National Park is the biggest urban forest in the world and the best option to hike in Rio. The trail is relatively short, around 35-40 minutes of a steep climb. Once you arrive at the top, you'll be taken aback with the beautiful view in front of you. In the afternoon, a specialised guide will take you on an "off-the-beaten-track" visit to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. In a couple of hours, you will see a different reality of Rio.

Day 4

Rio de Janeiro to Iguacu Falls

Today, you'll leave Rio behind and fly to Foz do Iguacu. Later, in a private vehicle, you will head to the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Park and admire a wonderful panoramic view. The Iguaçu National Park, 185,000 acres, was created in 1939 and its ecological reserve was classified as a Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. You will pass hundreds of small falls before reaching the last one, Floriano Fall. On the way back, you will stop at the bird park (Parque das Aves).

Today, you'll meet your English-speaking guide at your hotel and transfer to the Argentinian side of the park. You'll then enjoy a half-day visit of the falls from the Argentina side (upper circuit), from where you will get closer to the water, and of the impressive "Devil’s Canyon" under your feet. Then, you'll return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Your day will start with the ecological hike of the Indian that will bring you to the kayak base in the Iguaçu River. This hike will take you to the heart of the Atlantic forest to admire its biodiversity. You'll then embark on your kayak or stand-up paddle towards the Tamanduá River to admire the magnificent nature. You'll then be transferred to the airport where you'll fly to Manaus. In Manaus, you'll be met and transferred to your city centre hotel for the evening.

Today, you'll leave Manaus behind and venture deep into the Amazon, You'll drive along the highway until you reach a traditional village from which you'll take a boat to your Amazon lodge. You'll check into your accommodation and have a rest before you head out on a canoe tour of the flooded forest. Back at the lodge, you'll share the photos and stories from the day waiting for a fantastic dinner. Later on, you'll head out on a boat tour to spot alligators.

You'll wake up early to enjoy a beautiful sunrise tour in the Amazon before heading back to Manaus to catch your flight to Salvador. The sunrise boat tour is an amazing opportunity to experience the beauty of the Amazon in the early morning hours. You'll then take a canoe tour to see the wonderful pink dolphins, creatures which are almost domestic since they are so familiar in their behaviour with human beings. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Salvador.
