Today, experience Lima, the Colonial "City of Kings". Visit its main square, discover its colonial architecture, and tour the Convent of Santo Domingo. The tour ends with the Larco Museum, which offers a varied collection of 3,000 years of ceramic, textile, and precious metal artefacts of the Incan and pre-Colombian eras.

Today travel by plane from the coast to the high Amazon. This trip will give you the opportunity to learn more about the powerful pre-Incan cultures in Northern Perú. This will be a full day of travelling when you arrive in Chachapoyas, check-in and relax.

The Gocta Waterfall is an incredible 771-metre (2,529 feet) high waterfall. It has been known by locals for decades, but only recently has its existence been known to the outside world. We will visit and explore this impressive waterfall for the duration of this day. You can even take a refreshing swim during the dry season. We will return to Cocachimba and drive back to Chachapoyas for the evening.

At the crest of the Amazonian Andes of northern Peru is the imposing archaeological complex of Kuélap. This site was built by the Chachapoyas, a pre-Inca culture that developed between 800 and 1470 A.D. We will explore Kuelap for with a full-day tour, and then travel overnight by bus to Chiclayo.

There will be an early arrival to Chiclayo and a later excursion to the most important archaeological sites in the area. The tour starts with the complex of Huaca Rajada, where the famous tomb of Lord of Sipán was discovered. Then head to Túcume, an 8th-century site encompassing dozens of mounds and pyramids once belonging to the Sican culture. Afterwards, visit the Royal Tombs of The Lord Of Sipan museum, considered one of the most complete and didactic exhibitions of the discovery.

You've reached the halfway point of your two weeks in Peru. Depart by private transfer to Trujillo. The journey will take you along breathtaking valleys until reaching El Brujo complex, which was built by the Moche culture sometime around 600 AD. This is a slight detour but it is totally worth it! When you arrive in Trujillo, relax for the remainder of the day.

Explore archaeological sites of the pre-Inca cultures of Moche and Chimu in a full-day tour that includes a visit to the Temples of the Sun and Moon, the Dragon Temple, and the ancient citadel of Chan Chan. The tour also includes a visit to the traditional fishermen town of Huanchaco.

Today will be devoted to the the journey and fly from Trujillo to Cusco. We will begin early in the morning to travel to the aiport for your flight to Cusco. Arrive in Cusco and you will be tranfered to the hotel to rest.

Today, you'll enjoy a full day of exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll begin the day by hiking to the Pisac Ruins, perched atop a mountain overlooking the valley and Pisac town below. Then, you'll visit the town of Pisac and the famous Pisac Market. After a delicious buffet lunch, you'll continue to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, a precious gem of an archaeological site which is known to few tourists. The tour ends with a train ride to Machu Picchu where you'll stay overnight.

Today will be dedicated to exploring one of the new 'Seven Wonders of the World' in a half-day tour. You will be astonished at your first view of Machu Picchu, a stunning display of ancient architecture with incredible surroundings. Enjoy a guided tour of the main square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. You'll then return to Ollantaytambo by train and take a transfer to your Cusco hotel.
