This tour will take you on a comprehensive tour of both Angkor Wat and the capital, Phnom Penh showing you the most important sight and lesser-known ones before heading to the southern coast to finishing your trip in style, as you kick back and relax on the beaches of Sihanoukville, Otres and Koh Rong at a leisurely pace.

Angkor Thom and Banteay Srei

In the morning, visit Angkor Thom, the old centre of Angkor that was the administrative and religious capital. Then, we will the Banteay Srei temple, known as the Citadel of Woman and Banteay Samre, which is connected to Banteay Srei in many ways. Then, visit Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful and famous temples in the area, known for its role in the Lara Croft movie.

Excursion to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea

After breakfast, we drive into the countryside to visit Koh Ker, a 10th-century temple complex. A former capital of the Khmer Empire, the site is now remote and heavily forested with its seven-tier pyramid peaking out of the trees. Then to the "red temple, Prasat Krahom, with its beautiful sandstone carvings. Beng Mealea, 'Lotus Pond', is in a fairly ruinous state, and is one of the major monuments of the classical period.

Embark a boat ride on the Tonle Sap great lake, with a visit to local floating villages to learn about life on the river. You will glide past the floating houses in a small private boat. The natural wonder of Tonle Sap offers an insight into the old tradition of life and the natural splendour of the countryside. After lunch, you'll visit some local projects that aim to teach and inspire those who are less fortunate in this area.

In the morning, hit the road to go to Battambang. Along the way, you'll stop in Bamteay Chmar, an immense temple complex constructed by Jayavarman VII. When you arrive, you'll be free to explore this sleepy colonial town and get a free for its laid-back atmosphere and charming architecture. Sit and have a coffee in one of the cafes that sprawl out onto the street to make the most of it.

Marking the halfway point of your two weeks in Cambodia, today you'll visit Psar Prahok and Krolan to discover what is made in this part of the country. Once we leave Battambang, we will drive through some small villages such as Wat Kor village. Continue to visit Phnom Sampov, Phnom means "Mountain" in Khmer. "Sampov" means ship, to really get to the heart of rural life.

Battambang to Phnom Penh

Today, you'll drive to the capital, Phnom Penh which will take the whole day. You'll stop at a small countryside village famous for its clay pottery, called Kampong Chhnang. Discover Udong in a hilly setting, this old capital of the Khmer Kingdom, from 1618 to 1866, remains, despite recent destructions, one of the most treasured sites for Cambodians, and finally arrive in the capital early evening.

In the afternoon, you'll visit Wat Phnom and then for a vivid reminder of Cambodia's recent past, Tuol Sleng Museum before finishing the day at the Russian Market.

We'll leave early for Kep. Half-way, we'll stop to sample some of the local produce of Kep at the pepper plantation before arriving in the town. For the remainder of the day, you could kick back and relax on the beach and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of this relaxing town that is surprisingly still off of the tourist trail.
