Embark on this epic 12-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca, through the imperial cities and desert to the ochre city of Marrakesh and the beautiful Atlas Mountains.

Combining the exotic influences of the Southern Mediterranean, Arabia and Africa, Morocco is an enticing combination of ancient cities and Roman ruins, sweeping deserts and centuries-old medinas, mosques and minarets, winding alleyways and vibrant markets, gorgeous beaches and rugged mountains.

On this grand tour, accompanied by a private guide and driver for the duration, you'll visit Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Fes, Sefrou, Midelt, Erfoud, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakesh. Your 12-day Morocco itinerary begins now! Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, your driver will be waiting for you outside with an airport sign, as well as a private vehicle that will take you to your hotel where you will start your journey in Morocco. There will be a welcome Moroccan mint tea waiting for you upon check-in. Depending on your arrival time, the evening will be at leisure.

This morning, you will leave Casablanca and head to the capital of Morocco and its first Imperial city, Rabat. It contains numerous fine Arab monuments, some dating from the 10th-15th century Almohad and Merenid dynasties. You'll start your visit with the walkthrough Medina, then explore the beautiful walled quarter known as the Kasbah des Oudaias and enjoy a mint tea. After lunch, you'll continue to the pretty blue pearl of Morocco, the city of Chefchaouen.

Early in the morning in order to avoid the hustle and bustle of the medina, you will visit this beautiful Andalusian town! Enjoy the sights in the main square with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), central mosque and cafes with authentic Moroccan style menus. The town is easy to explore and the old Kasbah is worth a visit. Built by Moulay Ismail, it is now practically a ruin, and next to it is the Great Mosque. You can enjoy a tasting of local goats cheese at the end of your tour.

Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis

Today you will head off for a guided tour of the Roman ruins of Volubilis. This site became an important outpost of the Roman Empire and was graced with many fine buildings. Extensive remains of these survive in the archaeological site, located in a fertile agricultural area. The remaining structures and intricate mosaics have been preserved as a reminder of a city that once thrived. After exploring this Roman city, you'll head to the spiritual city of Fes, one of Morocco's imperial cities!

After breakfast, you will visit the Medersa Bou Inania founded in 1351 by a Merenid Sultan, now a living example of Merinid architecture. You'll then visit the splendid 18th-century Funduk Nejjarine and the notorious Fes tannery. After the medina visit, you will leave Fes and head to the cherry town of Sefrou only 28 kilometres away from Fes. This small town has become increasingly popular and one of the most desirable destinations for people who seek serenity and relaxation.

Today you will visit Bhalil Village, set on the side of a hill six kilometres northwest of Sefrou. You will meet a local guide who will take you to his personal cave house and serve you mint tea. This small village is notable for its unique cave houses and is also known for its production of Jelleba buttons. Village women can often be found in alleyways, chatting away while creating traditional Jellaba. After lunch, you will continue to the city of Midelt to enjoy a Berber dinner.

You’ll have this morning to relax and explore Midelt at your own pace, visit the women-focused Kasbah Myriam with a local guide and enjoy a traditional Medfouna lunch. On the way to Merzouga, you'll visit Erfoud to admire the millions-years-old fossils. Upon arrival at Merzouga, you'll hop on a camel and head to your beautiful Bedouin-style camp for dinner by the campfire and some traditional gnaoua music. This will be one of the most epic moments of your Morocco adventure!

This morning, you'll leave the desert at sunrise on camelback appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. You'll visit the historical village of Khamlia before leaving for the Todra Gorges where you will have the option to hike for an hour within the valley, where you will meet locals and learn about the culture and geography. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, you will continue to the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and rocks formations.

Today, you will get to explore the beauty of the untouched Moroccan backcountry. First, you will head to Rose Valley to visit a rosewater making workshop run by local women. You'll then continue your journey to Ait Ben Haddou via Skoura, commonly known as the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs. The final stop of the day will be the amazing Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where you will spend the night perched on a hilltop almost unchanged since the 11th century overlooking one of Morocco's most iconic sites.

You'll then continue to Marrakesh, a colourful melting pot where European modernity meets ancient vibes. Upon arrival, you'll have the rest of the day and evening free to explore.

After breakfast, you will head to a riad where you will have a cooking class to learn to prepare your first Moroccan meal. After enjoying your creation, you will head out on a magnificent guided tour of the Medina, starting from Le Jardin Secret and visiting Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque and its notorious Minaret! Later on, your driver will take you outside of the city to the Ourika Valley where you will spend your last night in Morocco in the beautiful Atlas Mountains.
